Gallo pinto is our favorite dish, it's just rice and beans mixed together and fried to perfection. The mixture of both rice and beans, fried with onions gives this dish a really good taste. Gallo pinto can be served alone, with cheese, or with broiled meat (carne asada) or with eggs for breakfast. The name was given due to the color of the dish that resembles the colors of some roosters.
