Carne desmenuzada is a traditional dish, it is usually served with rice, red beans, and maduro (boiled ripe plantain). I love black beans and that's why this one has black beans. Carne dezmenuzada it's also called "ropa vieja" and it is made in many South and Central American countries as well as Puerto Rico and Cuba. Every country has their own ingredients but the outcome is the same, for me it's a comfort food, something I can eat the same as dinner and breakfast. My mom used to mix it with gallopinto and called it " burundanga" it was amazing!
